£2.00An early maturing Butternut Squash which has been specifically developed over the last 10 years to suit the UK climate. It is very hardy producing strong plants that will give 6 – 7 squashes. The fruit are light tan in colour with sweet, bright orange flesh, they have an excellent flavour and store very well. It matures up to 4 weeks earlier than other varieties, but has a more compact open habit with slightly smaller fruit. Spacing every 50cm in rows 50cm apart.

£3.00An excellent early summer variety ball head cabbage with small to medium-sized green, round solid heads on compact plants with few outer leaves. Ideal for confined areas, it can be grown at 30cm spacings and give excellent small heads of first rate quality and flavour. The heads are tightly folded, solid, 12 to 18cm (5 to 7 in) in diameter, round, grey-green in colour and weigh three to five pounds.

It is a very old variety and is actually one of the easier varieties to grow and perfect for the novice gardener. Mid-sized fruits are grey-green in colour, sometimes stripy, sometimes not quite so pronounced. Inside the flesh is a rich orange colour and literally so juicy you may struggle to not dribble when eating! Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. Plant two to a growbag or one to a large pot. Fruits are ripe when they become ever so slightly yellow , the flesh around the stem becomes slightly soft and they smell strongly of melons.

The heads reach a good size – about 16cm in diameter and they look stunning in the garden or on a dinner plate. Cauliflower Graffiti heads make unusual deep purple raw crudities – a talking point at the dinner table! The colour keeps better if the florets are steamed rather than boiled. It is usual to cover the heads of white cauliflowers with their own leaves to prevent the curds from yellowing with the sun but this purple one benefits from sunlight exposure making the curds a deeper purple.
