An attractive, unusual form of Himalayan Birch which has rich orange, smooth and freely peeling bark, with noticeable horizontal bands of lenticels. The leaves are dark green which turn yellow and bronze tints in autumn. Yellow catkins are borne in spring.

Grows in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or in dappled shade. It will reach a height of 6m and a spread of 4m in 10 years and an ultimate height of 12-15m and spread of 6-8m.
