Description
Corylus avellana
Hazel. An upright shrub which have ovate, prominently serrated mid-green leaves. Yellow male catkins are born in February. Ovoid nuts form in clusters of two or four in the autumn.
Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. It will form a hedge from 1.5-3.5m tall and once established will have an average annual growth of 45cm.
