Small Globe Thistle. Elliptical leaves which are white and woolly on the undersides and have sharp spines. In early July branched stems carry deep metallic blue flowerheads up to 4.5cm across are borne.

Grow in a hot position in well drained soil in full sun, but will grow in almost any other soil or position except for heavy shade. It will reach a height of 90cm and a spread of 50cm.
