Echinops spaerocephalus ‘Artic Glow’
Great Globe Thistle. Elliptical leaves which are white and woolly on the undersides and have sharp spines. In early July branched stems carry greyish white flowerheads up to 6cm across are borne on dark red-brown stems.
Grow in a hot position in well drained soil in full sun, but will grow in almost any other soil or position except for heavy shade. It will reach a height of 1-1.5m and a spread of 1m.
