A dense, clump-forming grass with an upright habit which has fine dark green leaves which have yellow margins, which fade to cream. In early summer, sturdy stems form which hold the graceful arching pinkish flowerheads.
Grow in fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 60cm.

Switch Grass. A narrowly upright, deciduous perennial which forms clumps of purple to glaucous, mid-green stems which bear upright, flat, linear, mid-green leaves to 60cm long. The leaves turn yellow in autumn and light brown in winter. In early autumn, broad, diffuse, weeping panicles to 50cm long of tiny, purple-green spikelets are borne.
Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. It will reach a height of 1m and a spread of 75cm.

Pampas Grass. A vigorous, compact, densely tufted, clump-forming, evergreen, perennial grass with arching, linear, sharp-edged, mid-green leaves. Tall stems bear upright panicles of silky, cream plumes from June to September.
