    This is an old variety from Carse of Gowrie where a ploughman was shot by a gamekeeper for stealing apples and this apple arose from one of the pips. It is a very distinctive red and ribbed apple. The flesh is stained pink when very ripe and has a crisp and juicy, light taste. It’s season of use is from September to November. Flowering Group 2.

    A medium sized apple which is flushed orange red with broad broken red stripes over greenish yellow coloured skin. Variably patched and netted with grey brown scaly russet. The yellow flesh is orange underneath the skin and tinged green around the core. It is firm, fine-textured, rather dry, and sweet, with a rich aromatic flavour. Its season of use is from November to March. (Cornwall 1800). Flowering Group 4.

  • Apple 'Court Pendu Plat' Out of Stock

    A medium sized apple which has a bright green skin which turns clear yellow with russety dots as it reaches maturity, the exposed side is flushed orange-red. The yellow flesh has a rich, fruity, strong pineapple-like acidity which mellows to become sweet. Picks in October and can be used from December to May. It is called the ‘Wise Apple’ on account that it is the last apple to come into flower so avoids the frost. (France 1613). Flowering Group 5
