A medium sized apple which has a bright green skin which turns clear yellow with russety dots as it reaches maturity, the exposed side is flushed orange-red. The yellow flesh has a rich, fruity, strong pineapple-like acidity which mellows to become sweet. Picks in October and can be used from December to May. It is called the ‘Wise Apple’ on account that it is the last apple to come into flower so avoids the frost. (France 1613). Flowering Group 5

A medium sized apple which has greenish yellow skin which is streaked with red on the shaded side, and dark red on the exposed side. Over the coloured part are patches of ash grey russet which forms a smooth and firm crust. The flesh is yellowish and has a crisp, juicy, sweet, and aromatic flavour. Picks in October and can be in use to February. (Bristol 1975) Flowering Group 3. Self Fertile.
