A small tree with a rounded, spreading habit. The glossy dark green leaves are deeply lobed with a distinctive serrated edge and turn beautiful shades of yellow in autumn. In May, large, white flowers, featuring a prominent yellow centre, giving the appearance of a “golden star” are borne in clusters which are followed by large, golden-yellow haws (fruits) in the autumn, which persist into the winter, adding ornamental interest and providing food for birds. Deciduous.
Grows in all soil as long as it’s not waterlogged, in sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 4-6m and a spread of 3-5m.
