Soft Shield Fern. An attractive, evergreen, native fern which has shuttlecocks of soft, dark green fronds that emerge upright before unfurling and falling softly open.
Grow in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Protect crowns from winter wet. Mulch the crown to prevent it from drying out. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 90cm
Rasp Fern. A tufted, evergreen to semi-evergreen fern with arching, rough leathery, dark green fronds which have a bronze flush when young. The colour of the stem is attractive, being a bright red when young.
